Project Cornerstone – Nobody Knew What to Do

Here’s the parent letter we sent home after doing a lesson on NOBODY KNEW WHAT TO DO by Becky McCain, illustrated by Todd Leonardo.

The difference between this book and the previous books is that the previous books showed what an Upstander is. This book shows what an Upstander *does*.

During training, it was emphasized that this story takes place in a school with no Project Cornerstone. This means no “bucket-filling”, no understanding of bucket-dipping as a bullying behavior.

The story follows a boy’s point of view as he struggles with witnessing bullying behavior from a group of kids targeting one student. The main character decides that he must reach out to an adult, make a report of the situation, and the situation gets resolved.
